Dr. McPherson and Dr. Kim present at the International Motoneuron Meeting at UC Boulder

Dr. McPherson and Dr. Kim had a great time at the 11th International Motoneuron Meeting at UC Boulder catching up with friends and colleagues, listening to new research in the field, and presenting the results of recent studies in our lab.

Congrats to Dr. McPherson who won the award for Best Presentation by an Assistant Professor for her talk entitled, “Distribution of neuromodulatory inputs to upper limb muscles.”  Dr. Kim presented a poster of his ongoing study, “Characterizing neural control of precision and power grip tasks using motor unit coherence.”

Congrats to Dr. McPherson!

Dr. Laura McPherson was recently awarded the 2017 Young Alumnus of the Year Award by the Northwestern University Department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences Alumni Association.  She was able to accept the award from Miami via Skype and had a chance to acknowledge everyone at NUPT who have made such a difference in shaping her career!

MIA to CHI

Dr. Laura McPherson and post-doctoral associate Dr. Nicole Rendos recently traveled to Northwestern University to collect data with their collaborators in the Department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences. Their visit was well-timed, because they were able to attend the Annual Ann Putnam Kaleckas Lecture, presented this year by Dr. Pamela Levangie.
